Korean Painting Painting Sculpture Ceramics

Korean Painting

The curriculum aims to improve the power of expression and creativity by promoting an understanding of the principles of Korean painting and providing education on the basic materials Ji, Pil, Mook.
It also aims to assist scholars in creating new painting techniques by accepting and improving the characters, principles and techniques of Korean painting. The curriculum focuses on improving the ability to expression oneself based on a general understanding of Korean painting. It also helps scholars to acquire an understanding of the modern era and changes in Korean and Oriental art, and to develop an understanding and perspective of the modern era by spotlighting artwork of different genres and periods during theory classes.
Some graduates work as full-time artists based on their ability in the field of modern art. Some work as curators at galleries and museums, directors, program managers or liberal artists. Some conduct research into ancient art.
And some work as illustrators, fashion designers, industrial designers, or environmental designers.
Those who complete teaching courses work as teachers specializing in art or nurture scholars while working as college lecturers and/or professors.
Painting

The Painting Major aims to nurture professionals equipped with independency and creativity, as well as the ability to conduct comprehensive research into modern art and criticism by providing an all-round art education.
The curriculum provides education in the following subjects:
painting, drawing, drawing and expression, basic printing, painting and visual art, printing and new technology, modern arts, painting workshops, modern painting seminars, and issues of modern art.
Through these lectures, the curriculum promotes comprehensive perspectives on fine art and professional creativity, criticism of modern art, and wise access to art.
The curriculum also provides an open education system by promoting on-site education, i.e. visiting art galleries and engaging in debates and research on art galleries. Graduates work in many different fields. Many graduates are fulltime artists who strive to nurture scholars.
Those who complete teaching courses work as teachers specializing in fine art at specialized education institutes.
Some graduates work as professional designers.
There are also those who work as journalists in the art field, curators, and in other job positions relevant to art.
Sculpture

The Sculpture Major aims to foster sculptors and professionals in the relevant fields who demonstrate intellectual knowledge and creative imagination that engage with the 21st century culture and fine art by providing all-around education in art. The major strives to cultivate creative and dynamic art through traditional sculpture techniques, experiments with materials, techniques and forms, art theory, art impressions and critique.
The education provided enables scholars to improve their 3-dimensional sculpturing ability and to develop an artistic intellect by understanding the basis of sculpture and techniques of expression. It also fosters sculptors with great ability and uniqueness by developing their expressive ability through balanced education in theory and practice, and various experiments and research.
Graduates work as artists who lead the Korean art world, stage designers requiring 3-dimentionsional sense, displayers, professional special makeup artists and/or sculptors. Some graduates work as designers or in job positions relevant to art.
Ceramics

The Ceramics program explores ceramics as a multi-faceted medium ranging from the traditional to the high-tech and develops students’ theoretical research skills as well as creative production capabilities. The program strives to cultivate female artists equipped with global expertise in the field of ceramic arts. Straddling the borders of art, design, and industrial arts, it offers courses in various fields including traditional ceramics, contemporary ceramics, and industrial ceramics.
