The Division of Fiber & Fashion aims to foster professionals, leading artists and designers in textile and fashion industry as well as in arts and culture sector. We provide professionally oriented programs and train students on fine arts based on textiles and fashion design, cutting edge textiles & fashion industry collaborating art and technology, and clothing production combined with merchandising and marketing.

Fiber Arts
The Fibert Arts Major aims to nurture professional fiber artists with intellect and creativity by providing theoretical and practical education of various areas in fiber art, fiber craft, and fiber design embracing modern and contemporary fibers.
The curriculum is composed of basic courses, advanced courses, and other extracurricular activities for professional education required in fiber art, fiber craft, and fiber design field. The basic courses are basic fiber art, drawing, plane sculpture, expression and media, fashion and culture. Practical courses to learn the techniques in textile expression are embroidery expression technique, traditional embroidery, contemporary embroidery, tapestry technique, computer textiles, contemporary tapestry, dyeing expression technique, textile printing, natural dyeing, textile painting, digital textile design, textile coordination, and etc. There are history of fiber, fiber material research, modern artist theory for the theoretical courses and study on modern fiber artists as an advanced course for Fiber art I, II, III, IV, VI. For the extracurricular activities, there are project courses for direct experiences by visiting art field in US, Europe, China, Japan, and etc as seasonal programs. Besides, seminars and workshops are organized by inviting domestic and international artists, on field trips, and career information in order to help students for their future career choices.
Students can prepare for their career by professionally working as fiber craftsmen, textile designers, MV/ VMD, freelancers, and/ or prepare themselves as future educators in various fields such as, educator, planner and designer of gallery and project by going to graduate school or studying overseas. -
Fashion Design
Fashion Design Major aim to foster leading professionals in the education, research and industrial field. As the first college in Korea to establish a fashion design course, the curriculum enables students to acquire a research method based on systematic thinking. It also cultivates professionalism in the areas of fashion design and design research. And it cultivates a diverse and advanced perspective of fashion design including characteristics of the body and/or model, environmentallyfriendly fashion design, fashion design product planning, problems between fashion and art, cultural and economic roles of fashion design, and fashion art directing.
The curriculum focuses on fostering intellectual abilities that will integrate the functions and models of fashion, and on fostering creativity. As such, Fashion Design Major provides a curriculum based on advanced and systematic education methods.
It also provides research on art directing and overall design process of fashion design, developing special materials, styling and coordinating for annual collections. The Fashion Design Research Institute established according to making the fashion design specialization plan the fashion design specialization plan, strives to fulfill industrial demands as it now provides practical education through an academic cooperation program.
Graduates work as fashion designers, fashion art directors, fashion journalists and editors, designers for performances, stylists, fashion photographers, fashion VMDs, textile designers, fashion colorists, fashion merchandisers, accessories designers, fashion consultants and fashion analysts.
