The graduate school includes a Masters program, PhD program, and Masters and PhD combined program and offers five study programs: Spatial Design,
Visual Communication Design, Industrial Design, Media Interaction Design, and Color and Design. Prospective students apply to the program of their choice and once accepted,
carry out both study and research within the segmented lab system under the guidance of an advisory professor.
Students can take advantage of the intensive, specialized curriculum and participate in academic conferences, thesis publication, exhibitions, and industry-university cooperation projects,
so that they can hone their academic and practical skills.
There are various opportunities to receive financial support, including scholarships
(i.e. research assistant or administrative assistant scholarships, outstanding thesis or outstanding exhibition scholarships) and participation in private or public research projects.

Spatial Design
The Spatial Design program studies the design of living space, which is the main area of life and the subject of creative interest that adjusts to changing lifestyles, as well as cultural space encompassing the general urban environment. Its goal is to understand related disciplines that deal with the relationship between human and space and to teach students how to plan and design various spaces.
The curriculum integrates the theoretical and practical studies of spatial design to instill interdisciplinary knowledge and professional expertise in students. Introductory courses include technical drawing, which is fundamental to spatial design, and general overview courses in spatial design practice, environmental color planning, architecture, and environment. Advanced courses deal with spatial design through 3D digital programs, lighting design, building structure system, and spatial trend, on which research is conducted and results applied in actual projects. Graduates of this program find careers in design related research institues, interior design companies, architecture design offices, public design, furniture and lighting companies, broadcasting stations, professional magazines and other fields related to spatial design. -
Visual Communication Design
The Visual Communication Design program studies the design methodologies to deliver information in an efficient and interesting manner from a visual communication perspective. Students will develop creative skills applicable to diverse media and the capacity to plan visual communication contents. The program aims to develop cultural interpretative skills that are necessary in a visual designer and to offer an empirical and practical design curriculum, through experimental design labs, design content labs, and typography labs.
The curriculum consists of a wide range of art and design theoretical studies, such as design futurology, form psychology and color psychology, and designer theory, as well as various courses on design content planning and production, including experimental design, digital cultural content production, integrative branding, and image architecture.
Graduates find careers in CF ad design, brand identity design, design trend planning, package design, illustration and publishing design, visual media planning and various other fields in visual communication design. -
Industrial Design
The Industrial Design program fosters designers that can handle designs for not only material products but also immaterial services and systems based on their insight on industry, economy, and culture along with their deep understanding of users. It also conducts integrative design education combining craft and design, technology and design in order to cultivate designers who can pave the way for new fields in design using their knowledge on craft and technology.
The curriculum runs on a segmented program, the specific areas of study being experimental design and service design, product experiment, product planning and product design, and design research. This departmentalized program helps students find careers that align with their distinctive skills and interests. Each program is taught by full-time professors that consistently lead the students from introductory to advanced level courses.
Most graduates find careers as designers in major companies while some choose to deepen their research or creative endeavors by pursuing a higher degree or studying abroad. -
Media Interaction Design
The Masters and PhD program for Media Interaction Design combines media, technology, design, and human experience and explores the process of planning and designing interactive contents which are conveyed through digital media. The program provides advanced theoretical studies as well as field-centered education. The areas of research are as follows:
-ditigal animation lab: 2D/3D animation and educational media contents
-digital edutainment lab: education and entertainment integrated contents
-UXD lab: UI/UX design for user’s emotional experience of smart media
Students will learn about art, education, and cultural theory in general to deepen their academic design thinking and at the same time acquire the fundamental skills required for producing diverse contents. Based on this knowledge set of advanced theoretical studies, they will be able to develop the research skills to produce and bring into reality various contents through their expertise and technological training on animation, interactive media, media art, and UI/UX design. -
Color Design
Color Design Major aim to foster professionals who are able to relate artistic, spatial elements and cultural perspectives after studying the theory and practice of color, which are the tools for expressing design or artwork. The study is aimed to design and researches so as to materialize artistic values relevant to mankind's environmental problems caused by social changes and technological advances.
It also establishes principles and methods by enabling access to art and culture, and social science. Also by conducting research to apply the demands of individuals and groups to physical space, the study cultivates the development of the students' intellect and creativity so as to establish the system for the aim of design.
The curriculum includes basic education as well as in-depth education according to the characteristics of the color field, which is an integrated academic field. Basic education includes education on color art, color science, color culture and color marketing. In-depth education provides education on color culture, an aspect of the product/environment design field, and on methods of color planning. By collaborating with the academic cooperation programs of the Color Design Research Institute, established by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Economy, the study enables scholars to benefit from corporate support for research and practical color design practices.
Graduates work in different fields relevant to color design such as industrial products including individual work, corporate strategy planning, cultural assets preservation and restoration, architectural design including interior design, and color planning for city environments color panning for city environment, colorist, and color science.
