PRESENTATION
The Ceramic Arts program offers master’s and doctoral degrees with the aim of cultivating artists who integrate both theoretical knowledge and practical expertise by engaging in scholarly research and creative practice in ceramics as a multifaceted medium.
Positioned between—and across—the boundaries of art, design, and craft, the program promotes interdisciplinary inquiry, where ceramics as a material medium and ceramics as a conceptual framework both serve as fields of research.
Graduates pursue diverse career paths, including independent studio practice as professional artists, operating ceramic studios, and working in ceramic industries, materials companies, and the field of industrial ceramics. They also advance into a wide range of related areas, such as ceramic foundations, museums, galleries, and other sectors connected to the ceramic arts.
