The Spatial Design major explores the dynamic relationship between people and space, and focuses on designing environments by integrating the environmental, social, and cultural factors that shape spatial experience.
Since its establishment in 1967 as the Interior and Environmental Design program within the Department of Decorative Arts, the program has evolved through Environmental Design (1998) and Spatial Design (2007), building strong academic and professional foundations while contributing to the development of Korea's spatial culture.
Through education and research grounded in the values of sustainability, the program aims to cultivate future-oriented women leaders capable of critically engaging with and creatively addressing complex contemporary challenges, including environmental crises, demographic shifts, and the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence technologies.
