Jeung Eun Shon
Fine Arts Division/Sculpture
Professor Arts & Design Building, A 103 jeshon@ewha.ac.kr
Jeung Eun Shon is a sculptor and educator who graduated from the Department of Sculpture and the graduate program at Ewha Womans University College of Art & Design, and later earned a second Master’s degree in Sculpture from Maryland Institute College of Art
in the United States.

Her recent research focuses on female sculptural figures and the tactile qualities of sculptural materials.
She currently teaches courses including Drawing, Form and Space, Spatial Installation, and Contemporary Art Studies in the Department of Sculpture, while actively mentoring students in exhibition practices and artistic development.

Jong Ku Kim
Fine Arts Division/Sculpture
Professor jkukim@ewha.ac.kr
Jong Ku Kim is a professor in the Department of Sculpture at Ewha Womans University College of Art & Design. He studied Sculpture at Seoul National University and its graduate school, and later earned a Master’s degree from Chelsea College of Arts
in the United Kingdom.
Beginning with sculpture works carved from solid steel, he became interested in iron powder through experiences involving the transformation and loss of material. Through works such as Iron Powder Calligraphy, Iron Powder Landscapes, Iron Powder Scenery, and Fe-Plants, he has continuously expanded the concept of sculpture. His practice explores the relationships between material and humanity, as well as creation and disappearance, and he is currently preparing a project that transforms military tanks into new landscapes through processes of grinding and reconstruction.
He has been internationally active, including participation in the P.S.1 International Studio Program at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)
in New York. His works are included in the collections of major institutions in Korea and abroad, including National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea, Seoul Museum of Art, Spencer Museum of Art, and Cleveland Museum of Art.
Believing that art originates not from external form but from inner perception, he encourages students through “slow drawing” to observe both the subject and themselves with greater depth. He approaches materials as entities to think alongside, helping students develop their own unique perspectives and artistic language through the questions and discoveries that emerge during the creative process.

Sangyun Lee
Fine Arts Division/Sculpture
Professor Arts & Design Building, A 104 02-3277-2545 leesangyun@ewha.ac.kr
Professor Sangyun Lee received his BFA, MFA, and Doctor of Art in Sculpture from Seoul National University. His work investigates the possibilities of sculpture through material-based practices such as wood carving, woodworking, architectural objects, casting, and forging. His research focuses on sculptural conditions including mass and space, surface and structure, the action of tools, the resistance of materials, and the eventfulness of making. He is particularly interested in how sculpture operates within its site and spatial context, exploring the sculptural event and architectural act that emerge from the relationships among object, body, and space.
